Majority of consumers are not prosumers as they do not generate electricity over PVs or other alternatives. Less than 9% of energy is produced by prosumers and small number of consumers are prosumers. Existing blockchain platforms from energy sector do not consider consumers as platform participants locking them out of benefits of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) energy trading.
Prosumer based platforms enables energy trading and exchange over the platform of only prosumers and of limited quantity of energy which is produced by prosumers. Such platforms are locking majority of energy market participants out of benefits of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) energy trading. In addition, due to small share of energy market, even with high implementation rate, prosumers based platforms could not have significant impact on structural reform of energy sector and do not play important role on reduction of CO2 emissions.

Energy trading platforms enables users to trade and exchange energy based on energy data provided by the platform which could be actual energy data or historical energy data depending of energy data update frequency. Platform ability to provide actual energy data is directly related to the features platform could offer to users and benefits users could have of the platform.
Load management is essential economic and reliability problem of power grid. Since electricity is type of energy which is produced and consumed instantly, demand and supply must constantly be balanced in real time. When the demand approaches the maximum, to prevent blackouts, DSOs and utilities, must manage both problems: additional supply and grid capacity. Additional supply result in increase of expenses on buying extra energy from spot market and in addition could have environmental impact if peeking power plants have to be included. Grid capacity problem is related to investments in new equipment to increase maximal load capacity and reliability of electricity distribution nods (transformer stations). This again results in increase of expenses for DSOs and utilities to manage this problem. To be able to manage peak load, DSOs and utilities have made huge investments in different load control solutions such as ripple control. These investments and expenses reflects the retail price of electricity. Even traditional load control solutions had positive impact on peak load management, overall efficiency of such solutions is low mainly because end users (load generators) are not included. With the growing number of distributed energy entities such as renewables, prosumers, EVs and smart microgrids, load management becomes much more complex and traditional load control solutions even less efficient.
